Have a question about your own skin?
Let’s talk before you book.
01
Your first visit
A little context before you arrive.
What is true sugaring?
True sugaring removes hair with a paste made from sugar, water and lemon. At Green City Beauty, we use organic paste at room temperature. Your provider molds it against the direction of hair growth, then removes it with the direction of growth using a controlled flicking technique.
What happens at my first appointment?
You will complete a consultation and talk with your provider about your skin, hair removal history and the service you would like. We will explain the technique, answer your questions and review the care to follow afterward. Tell us if you are nervous or would like a pause.
02
Comfort & technique
What the technique feels like, and what to expect.
Does sugaring hurt?
You will feel hair being removed from the root. Sensations vary with the area, your hair and your individual sensitivity. Some clients describe a brief pinch, and a first appointment can feel different from a regular visit. Your provider will check in with you throughout the service. Let us know if you would like a pause.
Is sugar waxing the same as true sugaring?
People often use “sugar waxing” when searching for hair removal, but the technique matters. Some sugar-based products are applied and removed like wax. We practice true sugaring with room-temperature paste, a gloved hand and removal in the natural direction of hair growth, without waxing strips.
03
Getting ready
Small details that help your visit.
How long does my hair need to be?
The paste needs enough hair to hold onto. Check your provider’s hair length guidance before your appointment, especially if you have recently shaved or waxed. Tell us the area you are booking and your recent hair removal history so we can help you plan the timing.
How should I prepare my skin?
Keep your routine gentle and follow the preparation guidance provided for your service. Avoid arriving with skin that is sunburned, broken or actively irritated. Let your provider know about recent exfoliation, skin treatments and the products you use. Ask us about your routine if you are unsure what to use before your visit.
Should I choose a bikini or Brazilian service?
A bikini service focuses on the bikini line; an extended bikini removes more. A Brazilian covers a larger intimate area, with your preferred finish discussed before the service. If you are unsure which option fits what you want, contact us before booking so we can clarify the coverage and reserve the right appointment.
04
Results & aftercare
Care continues after the appointment.
How long will my results last?
Results vary with the area, your hair growth cycle and your appointment routine. Your provider can help you plan a return visit based on your regrowth and goals, with care tailored to your routine.
What should I do after sugaring?
Your provider will review aftercare for the area treated. Keep freshly sugared skin clean and treat it gently; follow your instructions about products, exfoliation, heat and activity. If a reaction concerns you, contact your provider. Seek medical advice for symptoms that are severe, persistent or getting worse.

Booking & your provider
Choose the right studio and service.
Where can I book an appointment?
Green City Beauty welcomes clients by appointment at our Cherry Hill, NJ and Springfield, PA studios inside IMAGE Studios. Choose your location first to see its booking or contact options. If you need help selecting a service, ask us before reserving your visit.
Who performs my sugaring service?
Your service is performed by a Green City Beauty provider. Every provider is personally trained by Ashley Richardson, our founder, esthetician and certified sugaring educator. Your provider will review your needs with you before beginning.
06
Skin & suitability
Personal questions deserve personal care.
Can I get sugared if I have sensitive skin?
Sugaring can be an option for some people with sensitive skin, but sensitive skin is not the same for everyone. Share your sensitivities, allergies and previous reactions with your provider so we can assess whether the service is appropriate for you.
What if I use retinoids or take medication?
Tell your provider about medications, topical products and recent treatments before booking. Some may affect whether or when a service is appropriate. Do not stop or change a prescribed medication to prepare for sugaring without advice from the clinician who prescribed it. We can discuss your service options with that guidance in mind.
When should I wait or ask before booking?
Contact us first if the area has a rash, sunburn, open skin or active irritation, or if you have a skin condition or recent treatment that could affect hair removal. We may recommend waiting or getting advice from your clinician before a service.
